The Proposal meets Two Weeks Notice in Ann Marie Walker’s new standalone romantic comedy, Black Tie Optional, which New York Times bestselling author Jennifer Probst calls, “a fun, sexy romp that will keep every reader entertained!”
Everything about Coleman Grant III oozes power and sex. And not the perfunctory kind either, but the sheet clawing, heart stopping, gasping for air after you’ve screamed so loud you can’t breathe kind. From his dark wavy hair that stands in an artfully rumpled mess, to the blue eyes that sear your skin, to his full, sensual lips – on the surface he’s pure perfection.
Too bad he’s an asshole. An arrogant, uptight corporate raider hell bent on destroying the environment one species at a time.
Everything about Olivia Ramsey screams hippie humanitarian. From her blond hair tied in a sloppy bun, to her faded jeans with the Bonnaroo patch sewn on the thigh, to her combat boots still splattered with mud from the previous day’s site visit.
So it makes perfect sense that they would get married. In Vegas. Stone-cold sober.Cole needs a wife. Olivia needs to save an endangered species. But what starts as a marriage of convenience soon turns into a battle of wills and sexual tension. Love is a game, and Olivia and Cole are ready to win.

Walker burst on to my radar with the co trilogy she wrote that I couldn’t enough of. So I couldn’t wait to read the first book in her new series A Wild Wedding Novel. Black Tie Optional is the sort of book, I could lap up in hours. It the sort of book that has everything you look for in a fun contemporary romance.
Olivia and Cole were both individually people you could love even though they both thought the worst of the other at times. . Olivia the passionate modern environmentalist whose snarkiness that was only brought out the to the max when she had to deal with her enemy Cole. She wasn’t no perfect lady. She wasn’t refined, she was happy getting in the midst of her things. She had a caring heart and was determined to saved the endangered species she was championing. Even if mean dealing with the one guy she would rather not deal with . Cole Grant , billionaire and now her husband….
Cole wasn’t expecting to be married any time soon. But he was desperate. Power meant things to him and controlling the company that has been in his family in generations meant all. Yeah it meant he may have come across asshole who knew how to charm the ladies. There was more to him. Cole wasn’t’ straight forward as he meant to be. Though he tried his hardest to disprove of things at first as Olivia was bring out the worst in him as well. He never expected her to become his wife or do it in Vegas
As this isn’t what happened in Vegas stay in Vegas kind of story. It the total opposite it what happens after that really where the story beginnings. Each of them may of gotten something they wanted. However the little stunt may of set off some people and events. Leaving these not go on their merry ways and back to their individual lives.
As the black tie may be optional . They aren’t escaping the spotlight.
Walker first Wild Wedding novel was fun yet there was more then what was hinted to . They may be opposites thrown together thanks to Cole’s spur of moment idea. It what happened afterwards that had me swooning and wanting more. It was the slow burning love story that followed whilst they navigated through live and their problems. It wasn’t going to straight forward with their two vastly different backgrounds. It was fun watching them being forced out of the comfort zone and living in the other lives’ shoes. It was adorable yet sexy and endearing. Black Tie is optional maybe at the centre a story bout two opposites thrown together. It also about letting ago and see what else is out there.
