Burn For You
Slow Burn #1
By: J.T. Geissinger
Releasing October 17, 2017
The marriage is fake. But for a sassy chef and an arrogant billionaire, the sparks are real… Jackson “The Beast” Boudreaux is rich, gorgeous, and unbelievably rude to the staff at Chef Bianca Hardwick’s New Orleans restaurant. Bianca would sooner douse herself in hot sauce than cook for Jackson again, but when he asks her to cater his fund-raiser, Bianca can’t refuse, knowing the cash will help pay her mother’s medical bills. Then Jackson makes another outrageous request: Marry me. The unconventional offer includes an enormous sum—money Bianca desperately needs, even if it does come with a contract—and a stunning ring.
The heir to a family bourbon dynasty, Jackson knows the rumors swirling around him. The truth is even darker. Still, he needs a wife to secure his inheritance, and free-spirited, sassy Bianca would play the part beautifully. Soon, though, their simple business deal evolves into an emotional intimacy he’s built walls to avoid.
As the passion heats up between them, Bianca and Jackson struggle to define which feelings are real and which are for show. Is falling for your fake fiancé the best happy ending…or a recipe for disaster?

I nearly missed this book and honestly if I did I would have been kicking myself if I only found out after its release . Gessinger is an author I enjoyed immensely because of her way with words. I loved her last release and her new series is definitely shaping up to be a treat. It is a bit of a departure from the Wicked Game series but it is as good as that series. I’m sitting here swooning as the hero is quite a man even though he probably doesn’t see it that way. It takes a special woman to convince him of that fact and their story was magical.
It is quite refreshing when the female is a strong willed woman who is determined to do anything to help her mother. Bianca is a can do it woman but her mother’s cancer diagnose sends her spinning. It’s been the two of them against the world for so long and her New Orleans restaurant was supposed to be their new beginning to a better life .
Bianca is a talented woman and knows she got a good thing going and she isn’t going to let anyone tell her otherwise as she happily will give them sass. Even so she isn’t ready for Jackson ‘ The Beast’ Boudreaux who in one moment sends her world spinning when he burst into her restaurant and makes his mark .
He is rough and rude and he doesn’t care what people thinks. However he offers Bianca an opportunity she can’t refuse and the rest is history as I like to say. It wasn’t smooth sailing of course as Gessinger never gives a straight forward HEA. Instead she delves into a deeper into the characters and writes a beautiful story that you will love
This was book was hot and explosive of a good kind. Their first meeting was electric , setting the tone for the novel. As whilst this book revolves around a cliché of arranged marriage, it not about that . In fact I wasn’t so interested in the cliché that was there or the fact it was inspired by The Beauty and Beast . Gessinger delivers a strong book that focuses on two characters who are battling their way through life for different reasons.
Bianca and Jackson despite their differences were made for each other. They both wanted the best of their loved ones and I loved how they cared for them. It wasn’t just about them, every thing had a repercussion and they were careful about that. The secondary characters were mostly dear and near to them and I loved how they influenced their relationship. It only made things stronger given the situations they were in .
Jackson despite his bravado, is quite a surprise and lends this novel a vulnerability that makes you sworn even more for him . He stole the novel with his story and his ways. There one particular scene, I can’t get out of my head that really cemented this book for me . Quiet frankly I need the next book now as after meeting ‘ The Beast’ and falling in love with his rough ways. He becomes quite a sweetheart by the end as we learn the full story and get swept in to his world with Bianca. Gessinger wrote a quite a book for him as a result and he is one of my favourite characters from her. I love when the tables are turned and you get to see a gentle side to a character that would otherwise be described tough, rude and rough. She has a way with words that allows to convey it to readers that you won’t forget. It all comes together beautiful and Burn for You is one not to be missed.
