Quiet, reserved, Lady Ophelia Fletcher always has her nose stuck in a book; hence why she didn’t witness the death of her friend the fateful night of her passing. Now, she writes the Mayfair Confidential column to expose unsavory men as a way of making amends for not backing her other friend’s claims of murder. When a handsome stranger arrives to meet with her father, Ophelia is helpless to keep from investigating the dashing lord.
Colin Parnell, Lord Hawke, has a promise to uphold: find the book that proves his grandpapa worked as a spy for King George II and did not die as a no-good smuggler off the coast of Kent. Shrouded in mystery and scandal, the Parnell family has been at war with one another for decades, and Colin is determined to put a stop to it all by discovering proof of the family’s honorable past. Unfortunately, the book he seeks is in the hands of a fiery-haired beauty, and he’ll need to enlist Ophelia’s help to uncover the truth.
Ophelia is more than happy to use her skills to help Lord Hawke. But will their search for answers lead to misadventure, or will they get something greater than they bargained for: the truth and each other?

The stunning conclusion to Undaunted Debunates was a bundle of surprises. About nearly twice the size of the previous instalments if memory serves me right. The Misadventures of Lady Ophelia definitely lives up to its name. Lady Ophelia is the book worm and nerd if I was to describe her . She is the oldest daughter and sharing similar passions with her father has let her get away with things. She has a love for romance books and can usually find her reading one.
However in the last few months things have changed since those events. That fateful night when her friend plunged to her death and things changed forever. Since then the girls have been on a case but they have got a little sidetracked. Well expect for Ophelia. She regrets that she didn’t see anything and the recent events that evolve her have got her thinking. She can’t stay in the background. She wants to be the leading lady like the romance novels and soon get the opportunity.
It all starts like a classic romance novel beginning. With the arrival of a mysterious stranger arriving to her family home. The said mysterious stranger coming in search of a book that she never heard of that holds the key to things for his family . Lord Hawke, is determined to prove things for his dear old grandmother who he adores that his grandfather was all that she claims. NO easy task given that everything is against them.
So when Ophelia comes across the situation. It seems made match in heaven and soon we see Colin just enlisting her help. However this is half the story as we see everything come together that has been building up as Opehlia sets out on her adventure. An adventure which has a more then a few bumps and turns a misadventure that you will not forget as the two set upon finding out truth of Collin’s grandfather
Honestly I could relate more to Opehlia to the others and therefore this was my favourite as I loved the layers to the story. How everything was unearthed and answered. I couldn’t say there wasn’t anything lacking.Colin and Ophelia may come together in the case for name of his grandfather but don’t worry McKnight hasn’t forget the long running arc and entwines it in nicely.
As both may have different ideas when they set out but fate and chance has a big role to play wit ht his novel and I loved how everything came together and saw its conclusion. If you thought you knew all. Get ready as this may be an adventure that you won’t forget in a hurry. It a conclusion that you will love and honestly I do hope this isn’t the end of these characters. As there two sisters that need their story .
