Two mechanics. One rivalry.
She’ll prove she’s as good as she says she is.
He’ll prove her place isn’t under the hood.
It’s over it.
“Don’t let the bastards get you down.”
For twenty-six years, I lived by my daddy’s motto. Which is why “Mechanic Wanted” is all it takes for me to apply for the job at the garage we once owned.
And I meet the biggest bastard of them all.
Dexter Ryne. Hotter than Hell in July and a firm believer that my place is on reception, taking phone calls and looking pretty. Not getting dirty under the hood of a car.
Determined to prove each other wrong, we make a deal.
I have three weeks to prove my worth as a mechanic. If I don’t, I’m on telephone duty.
If I do, he’ll accept defeat and make my job permanent.
Now, all I have to do is fight my attraction to the cocky little… beep.
Problem is, an engine isn’t the only thing he knows how to make purr…

It’s been a while since I read a Hart novel and I was ready for this book. Hart has never disappoint me and it has been a while since I read a contemporary offering of her’s. Miss Mechanic was the perfect return to her books. Light hearted fun take on a gender swap role was just what I needed, a break from the heavy stuff. It’s a delightful fun romance and I couldn’t get enough of this book.
Hart doesn’t force it down your throat but she shows that Jamie Bell is as good even better depending how you see things as any male mechanic. However it a boy’s world and she has struggled finding a job since her dad’s garage close down .
She has the skills and talent so it hard watching her feel the way that she is at the moment considering that the situation she is in is no fault of her own. She has simple dreams and wants to continue the same life she always she has known surrounding by cars, family and friends.
It takes a lot for someone to do what Jamie did and I admire that. I loved that everyone was support of her choice even though the reception wasn’t that welcome from Dex. She just want someone to take a chance and Dex was an idiot to put simple. As Jamie knew how to put him into place and he was challenged by her in a good way.
Dex was a laugh he had no clue what he got himself into and whilst he was bit of a problem with his attitude . He grew on me, he might of have the wrong old fashioned idea about woman but Jamie was the perfect person to put him into place.
As he didn’t know what hit him and I loved he reacted as someone who saw Jamie basically as an interloper who won him over with her personality and antics . Dex was blindsided and I loved that Jamie never missed a step.
I love that Hart didn’t compromise on her , Jamie showed she well anyone can have the best of both worlds. A feminist but she didn’t shove it down your throat. She showed it was okay to be pretty and comfortable in your skin. She gave it good to Dex and I love how the tables were turned in this fun romance. It’s nothing less than what I expected from Hart and I can’t wait for next book.
By day, New York Times and USA Today bestselling New Adult author Emma Hart dons a cape and calls herself Super Mum to two beautiful little monsters. By night, she drops the cape, pours a glass of whatever she fancies—usually wine—and writes books.

She likes to be busy—unless busy involves doing the dishes, but that seems to be when all the ideas come to life.
