Kyle Kingston-Moore has a reputation.

Adrenaline seeker. Commitment-phobe. Gigolo of the skies.

He’s worked tirelessly to make a success out of Sensational Skydives, on occasion providing extra services to deliver the ultimate jump experience. The adrenaline helps him forget the loneliness and the gaping hole left in his heart. When the rush wears off, he’s on the hunt again—a vicious circle of avoidance.

Kalani Hart knows all about avoidance.

Wide-open spaces. Social situations. Uncontrolled environments.

For years, fear has crippled Kalani’s attempts to lead a normal life after a random attack that tore her family apart. Finally, Kalani is on her way to recovery. She knows she needs to face her nightmares, but taking the plunge is easier said than done. When her therapist challenges her to take on skydiving, item number one on her bucket list, Kalani has to decide if she’s truly ready to take charge of her life.

Will one tandem jump with Kyle be the key to Kalani getting her life back, or will they both find themselves stranded in a place where their hearts decide what happens next?

When the adrenaline is this high, anything can happen.

It’s been nearly two years since Ryder’s last release and  nearly three years since we have been in the world of Spark. It’s done a world of good for this author, undoubtedly  Tandem is her best work to date . Breathing fresh air into her beloved  Spark world with a story that readers won’t see coming and will tear you into pieces.

I’m in pieces literally as I sit down and write this review. It’s been so long and even before I had finish this book, I knew I had read something special. I was sneaking this book wherever I went  during my day, trying to devour the worlds and reconcile my heart and brain that it would be alright.  Kyle and Kalini would get the magical HEA they both deserved as these two ranked up there as the perfect couple, however there was the big BUT.

They were perfect for each other but there was a lot of baggage and it  is never okay when two broken souls meet each other with devastating back stories.  Kyle the  adrenaline junkie, seeking any sort of relief he can get from the pain. Caught up in his own little world where his business is everything.   Struggling to move forward, until Kalini walks into the picture and delivers a devastating punch.  Whilst Kyle ‘s story is heartbreaking, Kalini takes the cake.

It’s hard to walk in her shoes, Kyle  recognises that he found a kindred spirit and there something in her that make it worth fighting his own demons. Despite her own problems that resulted in crippling fear, Kalini still brings light to Kyle’s  life.  Giving a push to each other and forming a bond that is easily one of the strongest I have seen. These two melt your heart, even in the darkest moments, trying to take back  what they have lost. There is hope and this what beautiful about this story . They give and take , working together from day one and  slowly putting the pieces together  for a better life.   It only takes one jump and  that jump means the world in this book.
I love the significance behind it and Tandem was the perfect title for this book as it really sums up things well.

Readers have a treat here,  Ryder has really honed her craft during her break and pushed her limits. Whilst the familiarity is there with this spin off,  Kalini and Kyle ‘s story is one that takes  it to a new level and leaves the world of Spark even better.

Just take a jump and dive into this book, you won’t regret it. Ryder’s  latest is one that needs to be shared. Needs to be savoured and mostly importantly loved by readers . It has well been the wait and I truly hope you fall in love like I have.
