Billionaire in Wolf Clothing was the perfect starting point for me as  it was first in a new series. Whilst this book belongs to Spear’s long running Heart of the Wolf series. This  is a  first in  a new mini series as well.

What I loved about Spear’s writing and storytelling that she  writes with a contemporary mindset that happens to have werewolves in it. It’s a refreshing take on paranormal romance and whilst there is the key elements that you would find in any story.  This book is more focused on the relationships and the story unfolding that has plenty of drama , action and suspense.  The shifting elements becoming  part of the natural part of the story instead of the forefront .

The plot for this novel was intriguing, Rafe is a billionaire shapeshifter. He has it all pretty much except for a mate.  He is the typical alpha type of hero  and doesn’t take his love life seriously. Until Jade enters her life, however she isn’t there for all the right intentions.  Even so there are sparks flying  and you have to wonder why Rafe is willing to risk everything.

As Jade isn’t a bad sort. From the moment, that we are introduced to her. We can see that she like any other single mother. Protecting her family with all she can .  However isn’t easy when she is a shifter and her son is human. Something that is rare in their world, given that genetics makes it hard for humans and werewolves to have babies. She is  obviously shunned as a result  and put into predicament she rather not be .

This forms the basis for this book as Jade is forced to come into Rafe’s life . However even with the relationship forming on  lies and secrets. It easily to see  why Spear has brought these two together. Rafe is a  man who knows what he wants. He had the right means and eventually  his heart was for Jade and her son.

Jade has a big heart and someone need to grab it as she was always willing to put herself on the line then risk others. She was a spitfire that need someone to bring the best out of her and this pairing allowed her to do so.

Even though it took a while for the romance to be truly sorted out  as there was a whole issue of why Jade was really there and it provided plenty of entertainment.  Spear has the right touch for a paranormal. She embraced the nature state and didn’t go too far fetched into her take of shape shifters. Even so it was an  intriguing reason that brought the couple together and I’m curious to see how this will play out in future books. As like the series title suggest. These are heart warming romances that happen to be paranormal. Spear has written a book that appeal to the masses and I can see why readers have fallen in love with her stories .
