She is theirs to claim. They are hers to save.

Zoey Blake is about as far down on her luck as she can get. A car crash took her parents, leaving her destitute and on the street. When she’s attacked by another homeless person, her lifeblood drains away as her fading vision is filled with the face of a handsome stranger.

Ian Kennedy, a century old Irish vampire, never could resist rescuing a stray. As a few drops of his blood heals Zoey’s wounds, he realizes she’s a sweet, tempting, flesh-and-blood woman. But there’s one problem. Connor, who made Ian promise decades ago: no more mortal lovers.

After another vampire murdered his soulmate, Connor O’Shea swore never to let amortal woman pay the price for loving him. Until he feels Zoey’s skin and tastes her lips. She makes him want to break that vow.

Zoey finds herself caught in their web of seduction. But as Christmas draws near and her grief deepens, happiness seems far out of reach. And Ian and Connor join forces to prove their love is sacred, special… and forever.

Warning: This book contains two scorching-hot Irish vampires, one lady with plenty of pluck but zero luck, naughty lingerie, and enough Christmas cheer to redeem even the darkest creatures.

The Bite of Winter has sat on my ipad for a while the hopes that there would be another addition to this series as it was indicated it was the first in a series . As Smith  is wonderful story teller and I  have enjoyed what she has written so far.

Perfect a cold winter night, Smith’s PNR offering is a delight for a number of reasons.  Set over the Christmas period giving some festive cheer as we watch the story of Zoe, Ian and Connor unfold  in this novella.

Zoe Blake hasn’t had the best luck recently,  with her parents dying and left to fend for herself . She finds herself  on the street, trying to survive another day. Until another homeless person attacks her thinking that she carrying something valuable in her bag. However at her very  lowest point , she is rescued by Ian a vampire who saves her just at the right moment.  Ian has a thing for strays and can’t help feel  a connection to the woman.  However there is a big problem in the form of his partner Connor who he promised no more mortal lovers after the death of their last one .

With Christmas fast approaching, Smith decides to work some Christmas magic in this tale by giving three lonely people what they need  during the holidays . A  family of their own as each has what the other wants.  With Zoe needing some loving attention  and some help who no better then these two older and wiser men . As these two  vampires who have closed of their hearts need some a woman like Zoe to show them a bite of winter is never enough .

It’s a fun book and I loved the concept of this novel. It had substance which makes it a cut above some of the other ménages I have read in the past.  You won’t disappointed if you are looking for some spicy these holidays.
