Two strangers in Paris …

One passionate, earth-shattering kiss.

He was the artist upstairs

with the tantalizing smile and laughing eyes.

He was the devil inviting me to sin,

seducing me to dance in the bright moonlight.

He was desire and need.

When he touched me, my body sang–

my soul came alive.

But I belonged to another man,

and he didn’t want to let me go.

Love Me in the Dark is the first Asher book I have read.  For so long I have heard so many people raving about her books. However I never picked up her books, no good reason.    It probably a case of too many books, not enough time.  SO when her standalone novel was announced , this romance lover decided it was about time she dove into the writing of Asher. To discover the  musings of this author and what a treat I was in store for.

Love Me in the Dark should be a book that I hate  on principle because of the topic.   Cheating but Asher makes it feels so right.  This woman can write the most beautiful angst and give us the feels . The feels do it for me and make this book just not another book.  It’s breath taking  and addictive.

A simple story that  is romantic by nature and so good that you forget the beginnings of this novel. How it actually so complicated then it seems as you get caught up in Asher’s words as she tells the story of Valentina and Sebastian.

Valentina once had dreams and stars in her eyes.  But the past twelve years  playing the devoted wife to William has wore her down. Their relationship wasn’t  what she expected and she didn’t think she would find herself in the position that she is currently.  A relationship that is fractured  thanks to the actions of William who had affair year ago. She stood by  him because she was the devoted wife and  she still loved him.

One more chance can’t hurt and William is desperate to get back his wife good books despite her devoutness. There still some part of Valentia that is holding out and he believe whisking her to Paris will be the perfect answer . However it is a business trip and things don’t’ come together for William as forced to stay behind

Leaving Valentina in the most romantic city in the world on her own and feeling at her lowest point of her marriage. As why can’t William make it, is there a reason behind the last minute changes. Disappoint, Valentina decides to take the time and the chance to explore Paris and  exam her heart leading to some surprising results that she would never expect.

Paris is a beautiful city  and not called romantic for nothing. We watch Valentina experience this  all after crashing an private viewing party and finding herself  being rescued by a man we soon come to learn as Sebastian.

Sebastian offers a wild and different outlook on love. He  offers her a different perspective on everything and soon we watch them  fall for each other . Everything unsaid is in their eyes. Their hurt, the pain is all washed away when they are together. Beautiful moments between these two are created but there still the original problem

Is she  going to stick to the old life. The life she was trying to sort out or embrace what Paris gave her . Asher writes an invigorating  tale that you won’t put down in a hurry.  Embrace this tale and let these characters take you on their windy journey to love and more . A heady affair  that you won’t able to put down to the last page.  Love Me in the Dark is a beautiful story of love in its raw form and how you can’t stop love.

I’m a writer, a hopeless romantic, a wanderer, a dreamer, a cynic, and a believer. And, I might be a

bit crazy – but who isn’t?
I believe in happy endings however I know that not everyone is lucky enough to get one, but such is life. I think fine lines exist to be pushed and possibly crossed.
