In a world of wealth and power, the rules of love and war are nothing as they seem.

Nora Randolph never wanted a life of luxury. But when her mother falls in love with the heir to the British throne, their small-town lives are uprooted and every little girl’s fantasy becomes her reality. All too quickly, she learns the dangers of running in circles with the world’s elite, especially when she attracts the attention of Winston Academy’s resident golden boy.

Asher Frederick has known nothing but favor and fortune. The son of London’s most influential family, his future has been written in stone since infancy. But a tragic childhood loss redirects his course, and revenge has been boiling in his blood for years. When innocent and unaware Nora lands in his path, it’s as if the universe hands him the ammunition to finally drag his enemy through the mud.

But as his plan for vengeance gets more twisted, so do his feelings for Nora. And as her immersion into the upper crust dives deeper, she struggles to keep the secret she’s been guarding for eighteen years.

Heavy lies the crown, and when the ultimate betrayal blindsides her, will either of them survive the consequences that come crashing down on their heads?

I have made no secret that I enjoyed Aarons books because of her versatile so when  I decided was time to return to  upper ya/new adult  a genre that I enjoyed a lot  in my early blogging days. Privileged was the perfect book to sink my teeth into .

As  who doesn’t love this concept. It’s an   insider look at an elite academy where everyone is rich and part of  privileged English society. It’s a typical uppercut scenario . Except for the newest arrival, American transplant Nora who about to become bona fide royalty .

Nora couldn’t be less happier about the fact, even though she happy for her mother who has a close relationship with . She is a smart pretty girl who was happy being a nobody outside of her  own little world. Until her mother fell in love and poor girl because  her whole life has been uprooted and  everything has changed.  Her name is on everyone’s lips and her every  move is captured by the paparazzi .  Typical behaviour of being somebody but  Nora would rather be stuck in her books and back in  America . As life isn’t easy being the new it girl , a role that she doesn’t want.  She wants to fit in despite everything but it’s hard when everyone doesn’t want  to know her really and rather be vicious and play games.

Her classmates responses are the typical response as they aren’t a fan of the new rich  especially Nora who is about to piped everyone in one swoop . Luckily for her the situation isn’t totally bad as Eloise a fellow classmate takes her wing and makes life bearable.  The comradeship between these two girls , allows to have a soft touch as otherwise things get pretty dirty as there plenty of drama, partying and much more. These rich kids are the typical ones you hear about and their leader Asher is no expectation.  Asher, is  the it boy of the school but this bad boy has ulterior motives that quickly become apparent.   Asher has got revenge on his mind and nothing is going to stop him. The hate has been eating at him for years and this boy isn’t going to be pushed over.  Nora  may a privileged by chance but even she isn’t prepared for what is about to unfold.

It was nice retuning to the writing of Aaron after a few months as it was like I was rediscovering her all over again. She knows what to give what the readers want and I love a good revenge book. As  there something about them, that make your blood pumping because of the emotions experienced.  By allowing readers to her the story from both POV allowed to see the inner workings and that despite appearances and actions. There was more to this story then said and it was a rocky journey.

It may been sweet ending that was fitting of these two showing despite being rich and having it all. Things aren’t smooth sailing and privileged can be a dirty word as shown in this case. Whilst it wasn’t my favourite, I enjoyed  this tale as both of these leads need someone special to understand them and they found it with a few hiccups.
