She takes my breath away; she is so beautifully damaged.
Yes I had broken her, ravished her life, destroyed her happiness. I brought her to ultimate despair. I was responsible for all the pain and suffering that now brought her to her knees in front of me.

Broken.
Hopeless.
Reckless in her agony.

She is a mirror of my own tortured soul.

But what I took away I can give back.
In ways she cannot even begin to imagine.

She is everything right in all my wrongs.

She loves me. She needs me.

She has no idea I’m the one who wrecked her life.

Vandal is probably the most devastating heartbreaking book in the series so far . I loved that we want from all sweet and banter to this book as this book is definitely dark. Dark as it about to get with this series and I loved that this book was nothing like the previous book in the series.

We were introduced to bass player Vandal in the previous novel and saw he through Evelyn’s eyes as she met the band and got to know the Valetine family. However nothing prepared me for the story of Vandal. Vandal is a man broken who has rise out of the Ashes to become a functioning member of the band with no thanks to his past. Though he only discover his true family five years ago, he still caries the scares of the earlier years that torture him.

However nothing prepares him for the rollercoaster that he is about to taken on, as in the first few chapters his life is about to fall apart and is a whole new world of pain and suffering nothing he has experienced before. Forcing him to confront things left unsaid and unturned when he is forced to face head on his demons with some unexpected company.

Tabitha Bennett a woman who mirror his soul and understands his pain too well. She may not have a damaging past that shaped her soul. Instead it is choices that were out of her control that lead to the destruction that she faced and lived to tell the tale. A tale that she wants to forget and she is one step of away of chucking it all in until Van rescues and offers a way out of the darkness…

A method that seems crazy but it so perfect at the same time as the author weaves a tale of healing and redemption as we watch one submit and one dominate in the hopes of feeling and thing about something else. However for how long ?

As there is secrets and more on this journey one that will has its highs and its lows as this story and relationship didn’t have a conventional start and this is the beauty of the story.

A conflicting dark story, Vandal is the story of two irreversibly broken people finding strength and working out a way that works for them that is unconventional yet beautiful. A surprisingly intriguing and enjoyable story and fitting for the man that is Vandal.
