Review:Ghost in His Eyes by Carrie Aarons @givemebooksblog and @AuthorCarrieA

He was as magnetic as a deadly hurricane to the shore.

Carson Cole was my first love. The boy I’d shared my whole self with.

He was the man who’d taken the other part of my soul and drowned it in the sea we’d grown up in.

And now he’s back. Ten years later, and the demons of our past are still haunting every breath trapped between us.

She was as wild as the horses who owned the beach highways we drove down.

Blake Sayer was the beautiful daredevil who had me wrapped around her finger from the time we were seven.

Until a horrible accident stole every piece of joy from her life.

Ten years later, she’s a shell of the girl she once was, and it’s all my fault. The whispers of our history shackle her to the island I left behind.

Just like lost years and unspoken words, love had slipped from our fingers like grains of sand. We’d barely made it out alive last time, was it even possible to reconstruct the shattered pieces of us?

Ghost in his eyes is the latest from Aaron , a second chance contemporary romance with some heart. It not the longest of books but I didn’t mind as it packed a punch and I knew that I would get a great story from her . She an author that has become a regular in my reading list purely because she is constantly putting out new books that interest and intrigue me.

Whilst she may stick to contemporary as her main genre, she doesn’t stick the same kind of story every time. And this why I love her prose and storytelling, she creates a beautiful story . She always delivers a book that I enjoy and I really enjoy this sort of book from her.

The heartbreaking stories ,the ones that grab your hearts and doesn’t let go until you reach the end. Blake and Carson had a story that was sometimes hard to tell. Ten years of pent of emotions and living live not to fullest can do that to you.

It was in your face as they looked upon the past that lead them to the point that they were now. Broken and wild Blake and cool and collected Carson.

Blake was completely consumed by that day and it determined her life. It hard not to feel something for her. As she basically lost her whole life that day, she lost half of her soul . However she wasn’t alone . Carson threw himself into making his dream career a reality. And the result wasn’t pretty. He may look together but hides the matters of the heart.

His eyes the window to what he truly feels about things and this reveals all. The moment that these two meet again. The tone is set and Aarons take us on what seems a whirlwind but isn’t . It a very well thought out book and I honestly don’t know what to say without giving away. The history between them is strong. The romance between them was sweet.

However things have changed and their second chance story is beautiful . Set in a beautiful setting and told in a way that is engaging of the surrounding areas. Carson and Blake embody the area and it easy to see why the author was drawn to tell their story in the area. As they both had stories to tell and I loved whole it came full circle for these two .

Whilst I feel it could have been fleshed out a little more with a certain thing. I was hooked with their story. The raw pain, and emotions that drove the novel won me over and I can’t sign the praises enough of Aaron.
